most PDR guys i know are also good hail techs so they tend to leave areas without much hail and settle further south after they get good.

I don’t care how many times I see it done, PDR still seems like some kind of voodoo to me.
The dent guys prefer you see it that way. it keeps prices higher.
there are hail guys in Canada that did over $1m (CAD) in annual sales themselves in the last couple years and i heard of a guy (the son of a well known PDR guy) who did $1.5m USD a couple years back in a good year.
it can be a very rewarding trade if you become a solid hail guy.

@JayS he removed the taillight, exposing a 1/3” hole. Pulled out about 20ish 24” steel rods with different ends and asked me to move a heat gun back and forth across the paint, slowly the surface evened out.
it’s not 100% like if you did body work but it’s 90% better and I’m not paying $3500 to fix a dent on a car I paid 10 grand for.
@bing he said he goes south during the summer for the hail storms.
