im in for sure
100%
I wanna be in for this, when is the money due by.
And does anyone have an extra helmet?? or will a snowmobile helmet be ok. lol
First off I’d like thank everyone for supporting the Drift scene.
I’m happy to see everyone have a good time at the track and you’re all improving.
Silvia_Drift, Please see the following link for tech inspection list (scroll down)

If oil is noticably dripping on to the ground you will fail tech. In any case you should get this fixed. It may be simple enough to just buy a tube of gasket and plug the leak. Any spill is a pain to clean up on the track, not mention if we have shut the track to clean up the spill, you’ll be wasting everyone’s track time.
SBC262TT, sorry we don’t offer helmet rentals. See if you can get a loaner.
Drift_ready180sx, What rating is the helmet? there should be a tag on the helmet (Snell or SFI, or is it just a DOT approved helmet?)
see here for examples http://www.smf.org/cert.html
SHC-300, is marked on the back of my helmet, good or bad?
DOT
Hrmm… I would get the best helmet that your money can buy. I am not sure about your helmet situation(s), so I will make some calls to see if any retailers are willing to give us a discount if we purchase through them.
Thanks for all the interest!

OK sounds good … Sasha would love any instruction you have to offer.
I have some winter rubber on steelies that are just begging to be scrubbed off (sorry benson I don’t think you’ll want these next winter  )
Now about helmets? How much would a new one cost and where would I buy one? I’m not sure if I can afford a helmet right now … would someone be willing to loan me one ?
has the restrictions & stuff gone up since the motorcycle accident.?
You can find Snell SA-rate (auto race) helmets at
http://www.cscracing.com/helmets.htm (located in Newmarket)
You can find Snell M-rated helmets (motorcycle race helmets) at various bike shops, cycle world for example. Snell M is generally cheaper than a Snell SA helmet.
Snell K helmets (kart) will suffice as well, they are similar to SA helmets but don’t have the same fire protection. more in-depth explanation can be found here http://www.bellracing.com/faq/fq.htm
If you intend to do actively participate in any motorspot especially any amateur competitions a Snell SA helmets is a must have. Anyone looking to purchase a helmet for drifting I’d recommend getting a full face SA helmet. Compared to some of the perfromance part on sone car its not that expensive.
average player, from what I’ve read of the motorcyle accident, it was a racing incident. I don’t believe the amount of safety gear was an issue.
As for the restrictions going up, its really up to the organizers of the series/event/etc to set the safety standards necessary. Not to say that if you follow the safety standards nothing bad will happen, there is always a margin of risk.
Shannonville does not force us to make everyone wear a SA2000 helmet, as organizer, we feel it is the responsible thing to do. There has already been one serious accident this year.
To date, we have not done a very thorough tech of everyone but that not to say we won’t be in the future.
Why was this locked?
