reinstalling windows problem

i just reformatted the HD and when i went to put it back into the other computer i get an error on start up saying “NTDLR not found” what does that mean??

CAUSE
This issue may occur if your start device (such as a floppy disk drive, hard disk drive, or CD-ROM drive) does not contain boot files.

I have this same problem with my parents computer,It will boot with the XP CD in the drive but if I take the CD out I get the NTDLR not found.

nt loader is required to be present (in default configuration) in the root of the boot partition.

A. Disk in the floppy drive
B. Windows is not properly installed on the disk

ill make a boot disk and see if that solves it, i thought the windows cd’s were bootable

They are, if you have the computer set to boot off of a CD.

oh got ya

ok now i have the boot disk running and i forgot what an i suppose to do when it comes up with “A:>/” ? i know i am suppose to type something but i cant remember
