Remember the monthly photo contest? It's back!!!

Well, pretty soon winter will be here meaning a lot of us won’t be doing as much so I came up with the idea of another photo contest. This time, with prizes. It’ll be the same prize every month, with each contest ending on the last day of the month. At the end of the month, the mod team will select a winner. This original post will be updated to show the month’s winning picture, and the rest of the thread posts will be deleted. That way, there’s almost a fresh slate every month, with the only picture being the previous month’s winner. I’ll pick a topic for the next month as soon as the winner is announced.

Here’s the rules:

1. If you win a month, you are not eligible for another six months.
2. All photos entered MUST be taken within the month. How can I/you prove that? See #3.
3. All metadata must be provided with the picture! To do this, the editing program you use must have it able to upload the pic w/ metadata.
4. All photos must contain what the monthly topic is, or be the type of image the monthly topic is.
5. All other posts in the thread will be deleted. No chatting in this thread, just pictures.
6. Of course, YOU MUST TAKE YOUR OWN PICTURES!

Here’s the prize:

These are the decals designed by our very own Johawk. I do not feel comfortable selling his design without giving him proceeds, so I will instead give them away. This also allows me to attempt to enhance not only the photo skills of Shift members, but also the creativity. It also allows the decals to be harder to get. The winner of the month gets one free pair.

September 2010 topic: Cars. This should be easy.

So any amount of post processing is allowed, Cossey? No restrictions? What size should we submit, 1024-pixels on the largest side?

I really am not a fan of post-processing, but there’s not many restrictions. As long as it’s not overly processed where you can blatantly tell, then you’re good. I’ll make exceptions for rig shots, since it’s required.

1024 on the largest side is ideal for the site to show.

Now what if we are not good with photos at all and still want that sticker?

Well, I wouldn’t feel right selling them as I did not design them, but I’m not going to give something away unless it’s earned, hence the contests.

does it have to be of the whole car?

Yes. I’m not gonna accept a cell phone picture of corroded header, dipstick, bolts, studs, and block. lol
