hey everyone
well i just got a repaired gas tank and i was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers before i start taking my old one off. lmk asap any info you could share with me. thanks
help me
jack up ur car. Put something on the gas tank so it doesnt just fall out when u are unbolting it. Take out one of the bolts on each strap. I believe on the drivers side its a bolt closest to the front of the car. and on the passenger side its the bolt closest to the rear bumper. Once the straps are dropped take the gas tank out.
not very tough.
there are 3 little plastic sheilds towards the front of the car. <-may/may not need to remove these.
the filler neck needs to disconnected, I would disconnect it from the wheel well and the gas door, and leave it attached to the tank.
Under neath the rear bumper you will find a pair of straps that just need to be undone, and it should slide out, I don’t think you will need to undo both sides of the straps.
HOWEVER: I would use some pentrating oil, for 1-3 days prior and just soak everything, so as to reduce the likleyhood that you brake bolts off.
thanks
