So i have a leak and its coming from the tank somewhere? I need to take it out to see how bad it is and where exactly it is. Can anybody brief me quickly on how to remove it.
thanks
also,
as i undo the lid to the gas tank when I’m filling the car up , there is a lot of pressure built up and you can hear the air rush out , what does that mean? is that normal? my other car didn’t do that.
in the trunk theres a cap that goes to your sending unit.
pull that off and look at the sending unit. most 240s rot out on the feed and return lines into the sending unit, iv had 3 that did this personaly. if that looks good then pull the 2 hoses off there rember what one goes where and then un-plug the harness. under the car there are 2 straps u un bolt and the tank just slides out. once its out take your compressor and plug the feed line in the sending unit
shove the compressor hair chuck into the return line and blow air into the tank. you should be able to hear it wooshing out wherever the hole is.
done and done.
does anyone know about the whole pressure thing , when i undo the cap when filling the car up there is air that shoots out under pressure, is that normal?
im not 100% but i think theres saposed to be a bleeder type thing to relive pressure like that, it may just be all fuckedup and clogged… then again the last time i delt with a tank was about 2 years ago now so i cant rember.
