Rim Cleaning Help

I’m trying to clean these Enkei 8 stock rims. They’re not that dirty on the outside but the inner portion needs a little TLC. Anyone got some time this week to hook up and take a stab a cleaning them up?

Text me pictures.

10 4 - I’ll swing up in the morning and snap a few - Then send them your way - TY

Nicks your wheel man!!! if he cant do them, the world is ending!

Either the images were too big to send or my signal was terrible. I’m guessing signal so I’ll just toss them up here for now. They’re not in bad shape, they just need a little TLC. I’m guessing a good bath, some type of clearer, let it sit. Follow up with a scrub brush and some elbow grease. They’re all in about the same shape, they’re just a little dirty.

I’d like to learn how to do it myself, I could use a good instructor.

I don’t mind helping you out. That’s two hours of work, maximum.

Text me or PM me.

Kamiya let me know if you want to sell/trade those :lol

It wont be happening any time soon, I have a sweet spot for these rims. There are a few guys on EvoM trying to get rid of their set of 8’s. I can PM you links if you want?

i like the soda blaster for re finishing the wheels. i dont know if it would work for you but i bet it would look alot better.

i like soda blaster for suspension parts cleaning motors etc. they are used for alot of things

if you have a compressor harbor frieght sells them for cheap. they have soda too

they should clean up easy with a good wheel cleaner, are you looking to refinish the backside and mounting surfaces? or just clean them and remove as much crud/dirt/brake dust as possible?

This!

IIRC Eagle1 Wheel cleaner is what I generally use. I believe Cossey is the one who recommended it to me years ago when he was at advance. Did a really good job of cleaning 20 years of crud off of one of my old cars

eagle1 a2z is the only off the shelf wheel/tire cleaner worth buying, zep citrus degreaser is great and cheap, like 10 bucks a gallon

Cheap degreasers and dish soap seem to work great if you clean them regularly… but if its your DD and you neglect that shit you need something like that eagle1 to get the caked on shit off

i use degreaser for regular cleaning on my dd and if whatever im cleaning wont come clean with the zep, then i break out wheel brightener, eagle1 is good just expensive over time, and it cant tackle the same jobs that brightener does, so i go with zep, even undiluted its half the cost of eagle1 and equally effective

He stopped over yesterday. He was concerned with the brake dust accumulations on the rear of the barrel.

Almost anything would have worked. I use a combination of purple power, ZEP and or brake cleaner but he was apprehensive about those. I recommended any kind of foaming degreaser…he can take his time with a toothbrush if he wanted and not worry about fucking up the paint.

The face of the wheel had minor curbing and flaking paint along with brake deposits that baked themselves into the finish. But in overall good condition.

My advice was to rock them like they were and not to go overboard on mediocre wheels. They are an 8/10 in current condition.

Nice guy…we talked for an hour or so. I think he was just over complicating the situation. Soap and water would suffice.
