Exactly. That was the point of reposting that meme.
I never used the word “scumbag” or anything even remotely close to it. He seemed like an alright guy but it’s very difficult to take someone seriously that’s preaching about gun control and contributing to crime, violence and illegal guns through their actions. Hypocrisy at it’s finest.
He should not have gotten her pregnant, end of story. How many fuck ups should we give this guy? Now his children are paying because he wanted to get some pussy. Nice job guy!
You don’t have to associate yourself with addicts. You can’t pick your family and it can also happen to friends who were on a straight path before it happened.
He was addicted to this at a young age. Could have had a rough childhood, cleaned up, started a family and relapsed.
I don’t think it’s fair to cast judgement on the guy based on, he was a junkie and had a family.
A lot of “Great” people die every day. He just happens to be the most famous one of the day, doesnt move him to the front of the line. The news media reports what the people want to know on a mass scale. 5 People may have heard of John Doe in Tulsa OK, but Millions of people have heard about Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Famous death sells news, articles, movies, tshirts. Fame good or bad is a machine that has grown out of control.

You could say that about probably a million people on this earth right now. So while you do not want to single him out, you want to act like he is the only fuck up that every had kids and left them behind.
I suppose we can just pick and choose what is good and what is bad in people to make a point.
You guys all suck. I’m sure we’ve all dealt with addition in one form or another, whether it be family or otherwise. To say certain individuals here don’t get addiction or are overly unsympathetic is just fucking stupid. Yeah, I feel bad he couldn’t control his demons. Yeah, I feel really bad for his kids or family. Yeah, I feel really bad we lost an incredibly talented actor… but fucking c’mon.
It’s just a shitty situation all the way around, and the media spin is frustrating to me. RIP Phil, you flew too close to the sun and got burnt. Fuck heroin.
Meh, whatever. I’m sure more than a few addicts have died since Hoffman and none of you are shedding tears over them. I have more sympathy for them, who don’t have millions of dollars at their disposal that they could use to get help than this guy.
He wasn’t high 24/7. At some point he should have had a moment of clarity, put his kids first, and checked into some mega-buck rehab.
And its hub is Buffalo NY…and Mr. Devil is a spy who is undercover as the ring leader…I bet he has Gov. Cuomos cell phone # and made him declare the state of emergency so he can move a big shipment undetected in snow plow salt trucks…Oh how it all makes so much sense now
What if it was your parent or sibling? Are you going to dissociate yourself with them? What if you had been there to see how the condition progresses and spirals out of control and you’ll see how helpless you are and how scarred you become as a result of that experience?
Quit judging people that you don’t know.

I’m not shedding any tears over anyone. I am simply being sympathetic to his condition. But, your last sentence indicates that you REALLY don’t understand addiction…
