RM=teh win

im talkin about current bikes. CRs r no longer dominant. Ride a new generation RM and the handling will blow u away. ask bics he has the same bike as u had and he rode mine. u cant argue the new suzukis handling, its flawless.

and as far as in 97 when McGrath switched to Suzuki, there were so many factors as to why he didnt win that title (flat tire DNF, 2 weeks to prepare from a late team switch, and an ankle laceration at the end of the season.) if any one of those didnt happen he wouldve won. it came down to a couple points…his RM wasnt as good as his 96 CR, i’ll give u that. but Mcgrath despised the 97 CR also, so even if he stayed on Honda I dont think his results wouldve gotten any better.

dont get me wrong, I think the “well so and so swithched brands so the production bike must be better” arguement. I think its gay, but you’re the ony that brought it up, so I figured I’d fight fire with fire. I havent ridden any new bikes lately, but Ive never much given a shit about handling. I threw the stiffest aftermarket springs they had on my CR and went out and started hitting jumps. Jumping and trail riding > racing.

proof?? so if he was on coke then was it 97 only, the only year he was on suzuki??? how does that have anything to do w/ what we r talking about?

i see what u r sayin, but if someone has a coke probelm i dont think they have it for that short of a time. i find it hard to believe that he pulled off one of the best sx seasons ever in 96 on a honda, then rode like shit in 97 because of cocaine, then come back w/ yamaha in 98 and win another title and have a great year. it doesnt work that way. i think it had more to do w/ the reasons i posted in my prior post.

x2. i guess riding an RM drove Mcgrath to get involved in cocaine for that 1 season and 1 season only. and that was why he “rode like shit.” but in 98 when he was on a YZ and winning a championship, he mustve stopped :rolleyes:

oh, he’s always been into coke, but I dont think that it had any effect on his riding. People can do drugs and still be functioning members of society.

i never believed that rumor, but thats besides the point. whether hes always done it or never done it, shadystunts is basically making it out like the season he rode for suzuki it was a drastic increase or something. i think the coke thing remained constant (either fully on or off) through the 90s and he just failed to win the title from the reasons i stated before and maybe a tiny bit to do w/ the bike not being as good. but i think most of the bike problems can be traced back to him only having 2 weeks to test the bike from the last minute change of brands. either way u cant dominate from 93-96, lose the title in 97 and say it was coke, then come back and win 98-00 and say "well he lost that title due to coke’…gimme a fucking break.

yep. i got it straight from them. it was their '04 kit. this year they have since moved to Hondas. they look cool too. something different. u definatly dont see a RM w/ neon green and red rims everyday. :hs:
