Who on here rides? & what kind of machine do you have?

I was wondering who all on here rides. I got a 97 CR250 that has FMF Fatty, Boysen Rad Valve with carbon fiber reeds, Full Pro-Action Suspension, Renthal Handle bars, Renthal O-ring chain & sprokets, thats all i can think of. Here is a pic of it:

:greddy: turds.

i have a 02 RM125. D.E.P. pipe / silencer, V-Force 2 reed cage, full Pro Action suspension (front and rear), Red Excel rims, Renthal bars, D.I.D. gold chain, Sunstar sprockets, Michelin Star-Cross tires. pics can be found in the other posts in this section.

01 rm 250. 265kit pnp by eric gore, protapers and oberg triple clamp. that is all that’s needed to kick ass. if i actually ride it this year, i’d like to put a new tire on the back, it still has the original, and maybe the FMF SST pipe and silencer.

i have a 03 yamaha yzf 250 applied upper and lower trippel clamps (blue) excle wheels (blue)motor is stock (3 gncc races 2district 5 harescrambels 1westvirgina mx state championship series 2classes and a shitload of practice and still running strong)now that i have said that it will probably come apart next sunday at r&d.today i am putting a rekluse motor sports auto clutch in it no more stalling thank god oter than the handelbars and bark busters its stock

how do u like that R&D place? do u ride the woods track or the mx? i want to check out the mx track. is it pretty hard or easy? i talked to alot of ppl about the woods part, but the only kid that told me about the mx part rode a ktm 65, so i’d like to get an opinion from someone that rides a fullsize bike

97 was a great year motor wise for the CR. one of the meanest, hard hitting motors even to date. God I loved mine. :hs:

actually the 93 was the hardest hitting CR motor…as for 125’s the hardest hitting 125 I ever rode was 93 KX

its good i ride the woods the mx track looks pretty easy if i go raing sunday i am going tosneak out on the mx track for a few laps

no. the big thing about the 93 after its hay-day wasnt the engine at all. the 95-97 CR250 engines were superior. the thing about the 93 was the frame. its a little known fact that in 96 when Mcgrath had that incredible season, his ‘96’ CR was actually based on a 93 frame. the motor and parts were all factory honda parts, but based on the 96 model. sure the 93 was awesome at the time, but the newer engines were better. as far as a 93 KX125 being a hard hitter…u need to go ride some other 125s then. in 93, the KX was known more for its handling and suspension than ts engine. that year the RM and the CR had the engines, while the YZ and the KX were slightly less potent, but had awesome handling/susp. actually i have a magazine that separated the 125 shootout that year. it was RM against CR because they were the heavy-hitting engines and YZ and KX in the folowing months issue to do a better in-depth comparison to the 2 better handling bikes. and that was just 93. since then, 125s r putting out way better power. just ask bics, he had on of those KXs and it was a joke compared to one of my old yz125s(97). also, we rode w/ a kid that had a 93cr125 and it was way faster than bics’ old kx also.

haha. wel let me know how it is. i want to try to hit that place up this summer.

I dunno if you know Jimmy Evans but I know when he rode for Kaw. he sold his race bike and practice bike to a couple friends of mine. the motors were unreliable but very very fast bikes.

also i did know that McGraths bike was based on a 93

i used to race with jimmy evans

ya. but thats modded. stock, the kx motor wasnt anything great.

Kawasaki hasnt made a decent dirt bike since… well. ever.

:hsugh:

exactly

x2

I have a 96 Husaberg MX 600, fun bike, no where to ride anymore, no truck and the woods i rode in are now a housing plan…

back to the whole cr250 thing,…the 97 is a work of art as far as looks, but on the track (or anywhere else), i absolutley hate that thing. the ergo layout is akward for me, the handling is unpredictable and the feedback from the frame is ridiculous (probably why Honda is on their 4th generation frame in less than 10years). one thing i will never complain about is the motor though. it is seriously the ultimate engine. right off of idle it hits hard and never lets off. actually, in 97 the factory and H.O.T. guys were getting too much power from the ‘factory’ engines and they de-tuned them abit to make them more managable. so that right their basicaly proves that they were able to get more power out of them than they actually needed. bics’ bike runs so good, its sick. when i had my YZ250 (which is another amazing engine right now, 99^ ) it had a bit more top end, but alot of that was just how the SST spread it. but it wasnt anywhere near as easy to ride as the CR. that thing is versitile. its unfortunate that i hate riding that fucker so much, cause the engine is so good.

i agree my friend had a brand new 97 cr 250 and i had a kx 250. that cr was scarry fast it would pull alot further on top than that kx but it was a peice of shit in the turns.
