i’d go carillo or a rod you dont even have listed—pauter.
actually the new eagles with 5/8" ARP’s are rated to 900hp
eagles have always been frowned upon by the dsm crowd so just goin by what i know
what? do they think their not as reliable as their cars
maybe you should have spent money and got REAL car parts instead of reusing engine internals
I’m still casting my vote for Manley H-Beam
well if jojo callos used those off the shelf eagles in his race motor they are good enough for me…the old eagles are good for 600hp…eagles design is not their weak point it is the rod bolts
Another question you have to ask yourself… Are you really going to be seeing 800-1000hp? I know it’s always good to be better safe than sorry, but any of those will suit your applications.
800 no, but 600 possibly, i’d like to see 500whp which would eliminate the scat, eagle, and possibly the carillo. i looked into pauter rods but for some reason the couple places i usually order from don’t carry anymore.
but like yu said…gbetter safe than sorry.
maybe you should have spent money and got a good timing belt :tool:
this coming from the guy who dents his fender cuz he doens’t know how to install one
this coming from the guy who blows up every car he touches.
jims truck - down
own car - down
jims white car - down 4-5 times
alteast the only car i damage is my own
if that were true my ford, dads camaro, and dads cheby would be broke too i think it’s jim
fight nice…I am tellin you the new eagles are pretty serious rods man
earlier you told me crowers were the only way to go…make up your mind
ive had no problems with my eagles, i heard the same about the rod bolts. thats why mine have ARPs
well crowers are the best rod IMO but the new eagles are no joke and will save you a hundred or so bucks
tony- the old eagles you have came with ARP 5/16" rod bolts those are the weak link that is why they started using 5/8" rod bolts in the new “HP” rods…they still use the 5/16" in the lower cost rods which are still good to 500-600hp if you torque the bolts right.
what you think Im making enough power to worry about it? HAHA you know NA honda dont make enough power to break anything but themselves
this is how I see it.
Ford uses Manley H beams in the Cobra, Lightning, and the GT(40).
All of these vehicles have been tested, and proven to be stable in the 800-1000hp area (as long as your tune is good). Now you’re probably saying, theyre using the manleys because they got a good deal on them, probably so, if buying them in bulk. Between those three vehicles from the years of 1999-2005, I’d say theres probably over 150,000 SVT vehicles out there using Manley H beam rods. Now think to yourself, if they were a failing product, do you really see Ford wanting to issue out warranty work money over a part failure, that they could have easily prevented over the small savings they probably received from purchasing in bulk.
Just my $.02
order pauter direct. it will be the same price as if you were to buy them from a shop. they only give shops a break if teh shop has an account or orders 10 sets at a time. and the break is only 75 bucks–big deal. Direct my rods are 725 shipped. Yours should be same.
