Whats a reasonable price to have two front rotors off of a 2007 Silverado machined?
And can anyone give me any recommendations on where to take them besides the stealership.

Truck rotors were 20 a piece at the napa I worked at
Off the car?
since when can you machine rotors on the car?
actually I have two on the car lathes. Thanks for the completly useless reply. If you bring me the rotors it will be free. If they are still on the car it is like 50 dollars
Are you back to work?
for a long time now…
I swing by every so often.
i was being serious, id never seen one, and there is nothing like that in my area??
that seems like an awesome machine to have in a shop though, would cut down the time to do the brakes big time
They have been around a while, but they are notoriously unreliable and dangerous when used by those who are not experienced. Most reputable shops will refuse to use them. Btw, that is pretty solid move by nitrosinsane for the free machining usually you will pay between 12-20 per rotor.
imo seems stupid. just spend the 10 more seconds to pull the rotors off. I have never seen on the car lathes.
When used correct it is a great tool. Go buy a mid 90s accord or anything with a 4wd lock hub. Should I charge a customer hours of labor or should I just pull out my on the car lathe and cut them.
Yeah dude I’ll take you up definitely on the rotor machining, I’ll pull em off.
i’m due to get the my BMW rotors cut down. Where would i be taking them?
Ever pull a Rotor off a 4x4 with lockouts…? That’s what I thought.
These are nifty for just such an application.
yes, they make a ton of sense for that kind of application, but if it’s just the carrier holding them on… they go onto the lathe, the hub gets cleaned, and the rotor hat surfaces get cleaned. rusty crusty stuff causes problems.
yeah 90-97 accord used the bolted on rotors, very nice tool for them. Usually if you need to replace rotors on those cars you should plan on replacing wheel bearings at the same time.
Well you have no choice. With this stupid fucking cars.I remember when I first saw the setup on redgoober4life’s accord. I wanted none of it. Now I get giant grins when they come in.
Good point, I need to remove my hubs on my Corolla to remove the front rotors. PITA.
10:1 odds they’ll warp with fresh pads, BMW rotors are typically near or at the minimum service level new, so once they’re used they’re under that measurement. and even if they aren’t they warp and chatter with fresh pads in 2 months and you’re doing the job twice. FYI, i’ve been bit before.
