OK well I didn’t think they’d sell any worse then an older style 250 but thanks for making that assumption. I’m sure their will be some sort of margional increase. I don’t think they’re going to go through the roof or “sky rocket” (like this b16a09128fjk kid is thinking Roll Eyes), I do think there is going be an increase on them though.
sorry, I guess misread your post.
I do think there will be more then a marginal increase though.
If I had to guess - maybe by 40 percent.
When I was shopping around for my first bike this summer, the main argument noobs had against 250 was that it was 80s ugly, performance was a secondary consideration.
Now that it got a sportbike facelift, I think we’ll see a marked improvement in sales. Obviously, this is purely conjecture on my part, market might disagree.
I still think the best bang for your buck on a “starter” bike is the SV 650. They’re light and they are not too crazy peppy like a true 600cc bike.
Sure, if you intend to keep the bike for a few years. 3+ k for the first bike is pretty steep for most people who aren’t even sure if they will stick with it.
1-1.5 k for a ninja 250/gs500/old 600 that you will ride for a year or two and sell for the money you bought it for is a more sensible decision as far as I am concerned.
On another note don’t you think if this was such a good marketing strategy every other manufacturer like Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki would be putting out a bike similar to the 250? Absolutely. Yes there’s a demand for them, not a big one though, because you would see more then just a Kawasaki Ninja 250 if there was.
That’s one possibility. Another is that there was no demand for them until recently, and the manufacturers are starting to catch the wind of it.
