I’m sure you know this… but they are only $3500 brand new… and the new ones (2008) look a hell of a lot better than previous gen 250r’s did.

Yes, i was trying to talk her into it…
But, being her 1st bike, she knows its more than likely to go down atleast once. something used and about 1/2 that price would be just perfect.
I wouldn’t say more than likely, most of the people I know that ride (including myself) have never crashed, but that is a very popular, understandable reason for people not to invest the money in something shiny new
your best bet may be craigslist, i’d try to check it on the daily and you’ll run into something quick

But i changed my mind and think she should get black instead of green.
Another reason for wanting to buy used is she dosnt want to buy brand new incase riding isnt her thing. Shes been riding with me this whole season, and loves it. She thinks its time to learn on her own, but worries she wont stick with it. A used 250 will get almost 100% of your investment back if sold quickly after purchasing it where as a new 250 would decrease quite a bit in value the day she bought it.
Shes still considering all options, and i told her i would look around. Craiglist seems beat of almost all 250’s (i know, its kinda late to be buying). I’ll keep looking.
