My a/c is blowing really weak and I’m guessing its the compressor. When changing out a compressor will I have to replace the refrigerant or is it a closed sytem?
Also how much hassle is it to convert from r12 to r134? And if its alot of hassle
my last question would be how much does the a/c sytem weigh?
Easy to convert it’s just fittings on the line. I’d keep the A/C myself. Everything including the evaporator core is 45lbs. Sounds like your refrigerant is low. You usually replace the compressor if it is noisy.
Toss your AC. All it does is wiegh you down (45 off the nose of the car is alot), make the engine bay look messier and restrict your cooling.
In bumper to bumper traffic on a really hot day all the ac does in an S13 is overheat the car. Since i had my car i only used it once and never really needed to again.\

It only overheats if your rad looks like a Birds nest, ROB! :lol:
