What’s the difference between redtop S13 SR20DET and blacktop S13 SR20DET?
One has a black top and the other has a red top. 
I don’t see how he got own3d really…

Redtop = old - '89(?)- '96
Blacktop = new - '96 onwards
Isn’t a redtop a s13 with a T25 turbo, and a blacktop an S14 with a T28, and Silver top an S15 with a T28 and VVL I believe?
no there is s13 blacktop and s14 blacktop
the main difference is just the colour of the top, and the age of the engine.
blacktop is also a couple hundred more $ more expensive aswell
Blacktop IIRC has lowport injectors but that might just be on the S14.
I believe S13’s are the only highports, and S14 and S15 are lowport. I’m not too knowledgeable on Silvia DET’s, but am on the Bluebird, GTi-R, and Avenir.
The S14 blacktop can be distinguished by the hump at the end of the valve cover. The S13 blacktop is flat.

What’s the difference between low port and high port?
1st pic is a lowport with the thottlebody above the injectors, and 2nd pic is highport with the throttle body under teh injectors.
This post is wrong for so many reason… FAQ section is for ANSWERS TO Frequently Asked Questions… not for posting questions. And second, there are 4 million posts on SON, and every other Silvia/Nissan board about different SR20DET motors.
