s15, im unaware...

mustangs, camaros, other shit like that.

and they had 2x the power for the most part

Yes. A 98 Kouki was not worth it in 98 at all. No way in hell I would pay around 30K for a KA USDM aero kouki. There was no KA aftermarket really going on, and the SR swap business wasn’t really in motion. RB’s were an afterthought. It was a rip off. Now if it were a Silvia K, that would be a totally different story. 220hp from the factory, it would have been a far better buy.

240sx’s were rip offs. We make them what they should have been here.

some of them didn’t quite turn into grade A students though :frowning:

The other thing to remember is that the mid to late 90’s were the glory days of the SUV era. Why buy a little “underpowered” japanese sports car when you could get a big powerful status symbol to ride around town in. It was all about the explorer, blazer, suburban, etc. in the era before F&F. If you wanted to race you generally drove a mustang or a camero b/c, like other posts have said, there was aftermarket support and a stronger culture for that.

This!..It’s amazing what used parts sell for in Japan…I can’t wait to go…Anyways, I don’t know if there would be a lot of people who would import a S15…You know what happens to car prices once it’s the introductory year that it’s legal in Canada (Anyone remember when R32’s were first legal?)…

I still plan to do so once it is (that’s for sure)…
