Sady's 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse - Wifes Daily Driver

We picked this baby up for a crazy $400. Its auto, and has 115,000 miles on it. The ONLY thing wrong with it (besides having a Crysler motor) is the sunroof leaks (b/c its aftermarket), and the dents on the passenger side. All it really needs is a radio, some nice rims, an exhaust, a new front bumper, and to be lowered alittle. What’cha guys think? Its the wifes main car, so we’re not going too crazy with it. She dosent care too much about how fast it is. She just wants it to look good. :lol

These are from the day before we took it home:

The seat cover is gone, and the interior is all cleaned up now:

Some nice photography skills there.

And a very nasty looking 1/4 panel dent.

Did that get fixed?

NA, 2wd I assume?

Wheels on it and call it a day.

Thanks. Camera Im using is a Canon Rebel XTi! I love it. :lol

That dent isnt all that bad. Its fixable, but didnt get fixed. That was part of the deal when buying the car. It had to be “as is” in order to get it for $400. We’re gonna put a new door on it, and just get the dent poped out best as it can. And if it needs it, put some filler in it, then repaint it in the spring (same color). The paintjob is pretty shitty, so I really want to repaint it. Yea, Its a N/A 2wd. But, its actually pretty good in the snow. :lol

the car looked good tonight when i saw it and thats a steal

$400 is a good deal, i agree.

that dent can be popped really far out actually. you can get it from behind, and or use the dry ice method, it may or may not work because of the sharp crease up top. to avoid cracking the paint as much, whatever you do, apply some heat to it via a heat gun first. if you need a hand with some body work i’m pretty decent at it, and wouldn’t mind lending a hand given i have the time.

next order of business for that car oughta be a 5 speed swap!! :tong

Na, no 5spd swap on this. Once on the Civic was enough :lol The wife cant drive a 5spd anyways. But yea, once it gets warmer out, we’re gonna pop that dent out, and get a new passenger door b/c it leaks. Where it got hit, it pushed the door inwards, and pulled the window outwards, so it dosent seal all the way. After that, a new paintjob, and she’ll be good.

For $400 that’s a tremendous deal, its no show winner, but who cares. As long as the head gasket doesn’t blow, you’ve probably got a reliable car.

if it maid 115+++ miles chances are the heads been done already they didnt go must pass 70 to 80 k before they went good buy though

I say we enter it in 24 Lemon’s series :ninja
