Sounds good dude!
Sounds awesome man, I find it hard to give a CBA kid rep since im a recent LSI grad lol, but +rep for a nice sounding car
WRX means all wheel drive, right? or are there FWD WRXs?
and where the hell did i get the idea that Subaru used a 6 cylinder…
Dude
thanks!
hahahaha thanks man much appreciated
any subaru from (i believe) '96+ is AWD…and its a “6 cyl WRX” cus its non turbo, but a 6 cyl swap…yes subaru makes a 6 cyl. they came in the SVXs (boxersix’s build not mine)
As far as WRX… WR obviously stands for “World Rally”, and “X” stands for the mathematical symbol for the unknown, that means its possibility is infinite.
Also, the Flat 6 comes in the Legacy and Outback. I’ve never seen a 6cyl WRX…
Also, I dont believe there is an N/A WRX.
im referring to Boxersix who posted earlier in my thread about his “NA 6cyl WRX” no they did not come stock with 6 cyls, and yes the legacy outback (sedan) and SVX came with opposing 6s. Boxersix’s 6cyl WRX isnt technically a “WRX” but it either was a WRX and he swapped the eg33, or it was an RS and he call it a “WRX” cus its WRX power maybe? idk didnt ask.
side note, youre right about the “WR” meaning world rally, and ive heard the “X” refers to cross, so “World Rally Cross” would make sense…but yeah theres pretty much a ton of possibilities.
Yeah, its a decently built car. The engine was done properly, just really needs cams. He’s cleaning up the bay now, some stuff that was painted is getting coated, and whatnot.
Agreed
bug eye ftw!! i have an 02 wrx bug eye. LOVE HER. Good luck with your rebuild. have fun!
oh shes all done motor wise:) (except the intake…still waiting on custom parts -_-)
so using ECUexplorer and Virtual dyno, i road dynod my build and here are the results!!
i know its not a “real dyno” and i dont know how accurate it is compared to other dynos, but id venture to say its fairly accurate, and im quite impressed.
for those of you wondering how i did this, basically i plugged my laptop into my car via OBDII-USB cable, used ECUexplorer to data log a few WOT runs, then input the data logs into virtual dyno and created a car profile which consists of gearing, weight, drag coefficient, tire radius, ECT and gives a dyno plot.
Those are some good numbers.
Synapse has an awd dyno. It’s $75 for 3 pulls. Bring it up there.
hmm thats a good price. i will once i get the intake done (still waiting on custom parts -_-)
If that’s somewhat accurate your close to stock WRX whp for the same year. That’s pretty darn good. Nice work!
which was my goal powerwise, so im pretty happy. now to save $$ for suspension!
other people road dyno their cars STOCK at about 120-130WHP on regular dynos, and with this software so i think its fairly accurate. maybe a few high but i dont think its off by much
Nice work, should be fun to whip it around
Ride in somebodies stock 02-05 WRX and see if it feels faster or slower.
The butt dyno is never accurate.
welp…its been a while, but im back.
as promised, got my suspension ordered!
put in the 20mm rear sway bar last night along with perrin spherical bearing endlinks (that awkward moment when the endlinks cost literally double the sway bar…) and let me say WOW!
my new blacked out headlights and HID kit came as well
put in the headlights, but the HID kit will have to wait a couple days.
also, FINALLLYYYYY my boss painted my new bumpers!!!
out with the old,
and in with the new
gahh i love having a nice looking car finally!!
for now ive got the s00per rice “front plate in window” look but i dont wanna ruin the bumper cus im getting a grimspeed offset license plate adapter.
im also taking the car to limerock for a track event tomorrow!! which means i have to get up at 4:30 tomorrow… sooo its time for me to sleep. more pics to come tomorrow!
