This thing is nothing short of awesome to drive. Handles like a dream and the interior is wicked for 1993. Motor is stout too. Rally teams all over the globe have made big big big numbers with it.
I havent personally picked it up although I would give me left arm for it.
Its on our lot (Right Drive) in inventory right now. Im sure its going to make someone very very happy though.
Its being sold for 30K.
For this trim, this is a pretty good price. I was browsing the dealers and auctions in Japan today after the car landed at our shop and good condition ones were going for between 15,000 - 30,000 depending on trim level and km’s. This was just the purchase price in Japan, not shipped to Canada and registered.
With shipping to Canada and all the fee’s attached to importation, they get up there quick. All of these end up being $20,000 to $30,000 + by the time they get to Ontario and on the roads. Worth every penny though!
When did you go? Because I’ve been watching the market for 8 years or so and they’ve shot up dramatically in the past 3-4. You used to be able to get a clean base example for $9~ now upper teens is the norm with super clean later models like this one going around $30k.
Sounds about Right. $9,000 Euro works out to about $11,500 CAD today.
Don’t forget that the home market for this was Italy and Europe. Japan and other countries (like Canada and the US) have to have these imported in. By the time that same car gets to Japan for sale, its now pushing mid to high teens.
In places like Japan, some have appreciated in value. I was talking to one of our parts suppliers from J-land and he said these are considered very rare over there (and equally if not more rare over here). As these continue to get older, I don’t expect them to lose much, if any value. They may even begin to appreciate once they approach classic status if they are well kept.
Mike, I hear ya. I fell in love with it instantly! The roughness and in your face look of everything really appeals to me.
