Made 2 runs today, both of them resulted in a loss for me.
First run was from 35 it felt like, I guess there was some miscommunication on my part or something. I started in 3rd and was brake boosting and got dusted, Scspeed starting in second pulled about a bus length on me.
Second run was from about 45, I started in 3rd and Scspeed instantly pulled a car on me but I stayed within his back quarter panel before I missed 5th gear.
Third run, we realized my brakes were failing. Looking like a Ferrari’s brakes, mine were as bright as a christmas tree(On fire) and sparking so we didn’t exactly make a run.
Cliffs: I suck at driving, my car needs work, and Scspeed is one quick mother fucker. Good runs biff! :tup:
Haha well, I’m not the best at driving I’ve had about 4 days seat time in this car.
Scspeed’s car makes 390 at the wheels and he weighs much more than me, something around 2600lbs.
Mine supposedly makes 440 at the wheels and weighs 1900 pounds.
I’m pretty confident that it was more driver error on my part. I picked a bad roll, didn’t know my car well enough, shifted like an idiot, couldn’t brake boost worth of shit etc etc.
I haven’t raced in about a year and was pretty nervous too, I kept spinning because all I cared about was getting a good shift and brake boosting and not dying. When I’m just cruising around normally I can shoot off like a rocket in 3rd gear while brake boosting without so much as a little bit of spin.
My car is scary as fuck to get about 110 in because my brakes are shot, as you will see in the video. Let me get some brakes(BBK for the front) and some new suspension bushings and I hope to god to get a cage sometime soon. Lots of seat time will also help… because my driving was horrible.
The motor i have is a bottom end built gsr, je pistons, eagle rods, (9:1) comp ratio, and arp head studs. Head is bone stock. Im running 18lbs of boost on a turbo comparable to a gt30R making 389whp at 319FT lbs. Its gotta pretty long powerband and pulls very nice.
As for the rex, im pretty sure its a fully built itr motor (correct me if im wrong) Made something like 430whp? i believe its set up for two different tunes, race gas and pump… Its got lsd (not sure which kind)The car was built by innovative Im trying to find the dyno sheets from the day that both our cars were done. If anybody knows where the dyno thread is find it and post it up. His car pulls very nice as well…
Anyways it was a super intense run… Once sobo gets some more drive time i would love line em up again.
EDIT: Oh and sobo, you might wanna get your speedo checked out cuz it is deffinetly like 10mph off lol. Was gunna tell you that last night.
His trans is an itr, Which is equivalent to a b16 but just with a different final drive and an lsd (very short gears) Him in 3rd was prolly pretty comparable to my rpms in 2nd.
Edit: He only started in 3rd one of the runs i believe. Sansone should be posting the vids up soon.
if he would have started in second gear, he would have had to shift immediately. thats why i told him to start in 3rd and brake boost the shit outta it. THEN i felt the entire car shake like an earthquake from the brakes being so shitty and thats when i thought my life was going to end… that and when the torque steer brought us about an inch from your quarter panel…
