Since the C6 is getting long in the tooth looks like more special editions are in the works. While both of these are at SEMA as concepts, I am sure they could pop these out as production quick if the demand is there.
2011 Jake Edition takes the Corvette Racing team’s mascot, and plasters the skull logo inside and out.
2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06X Track Car, takes a standard Z06 and stuffs it with an SCCA-approved roll cage, racing seat and harness and fire suppression system. Besides the required racing bits, the car has been extensively lightened thanks to carbon fiber body panels, a polycarbonate rear window and the removal of the radio, carpets and sound-deadening material.
Am I the only one that is noticing that the manufacturers are slowly but surely poising themselves halfway into the performance market? Just enough to take all of the tuners’ money, but not quite far enough to take any of the responsibility.
its already made, only its a viper, better looking, faster, and performs all around better, did i mention there arent 4 million vipers on the road? youd actually be one of a kind
At least they’re acknowledging the demand…loving this whole horsepower war going on, and soon hopefully weight savings becomes the next new hot trend on a lot of manufacturers. Not mad!!
It is true I rarely see Viper’s on the road, but my guess is that is because many are garage queens (I am sure there are some DD) like Vette’s that never see a cloud. In comparison, the CTS-V only had 10k made from 2004 - 2007 and I still see many daily.
They built 50 ACR-X’s last I checked, but I guess you could be right since I am sure most people bought them and then put them into the wall (I would say tree but they are not street legal)
You will when more and more tuners don’t bother with the companies doing this, and nothing but the creme de la creme is left for bazillion dollar cars.
