Servey finds cars are “key” to a first impression

A Ford Fusion “Life in Drive” survey that polled over 400 single people found that 89 percent of men and 95 percent of females are somewhat likely to notice their date’s car.

The survey is part of an upcoming “speed dating” series sponsored by the Ford Fusion as part of its “Life in Drive” marketing program, which seeks to show how integral a car’s role is in scoring, er, points.

It’s not just the car, though — 69 percent of females and 47 percent of males also look at a car’s state of cleanliness in summing up their date.

The first date with my wife, actually more like the first thing we did together outside of work, was helping her shop for her Z28.

aslong as you dont drive a pile of shit and your car isnt filthy inside then you are in good shape… from my experiences anyways. cause most girls i dated on a regular basis didnt give a shit if they were in my vette, ws6 or trucks. i would think it’d be ‘special’ to go out somewhere in one of the cars, but to the girls it was really no different. :doh: so either my cars arent any cooler than my daily drivers or i have a habit of dating chicks that arent superficial…dunno, u make the call.

I met my wife while driving a rusted out, couldn’t even put your feet on the floor because of so much garbage, smelly (burning oil and leaking gas) 1988 ford ranger pickup. I had 2 12" subs behind the seat in a regular cab so your knees would be resting on the dash. It was truely a hunk of shit, kinda like my truck now only I have a lot more room in this one. :smiley:

FYI - girls could give a rats ass what you drive and can barely tell the difference between a chevette and a corvette.

when i met Amanda, I didn’t have a car.

then she had to suffer through my rusted-out 86 Hilux and ran for one day 81 LTD before I got a really clean, but still shitty, 93 Metro.

holds some truth. but also if u have a decent car and its clean it shows u have your act together and are a clean person.
