Well children, We managed to win again! At a street course! Three Rivers is the most amazing motorsport event you could ever dream of going to. They literally shut down the main street downtown Friday and Saturday night just to celebrate the race. The fans are incredible. People love racing there. And not just Nascar either. How I would love if Ontario could be like that.
I qualified 5th behind some heavy machinery, but it would be a lucky weekend for us, most of our competitors had issues throuout the qualifying race and the main race. Bob my teammate qualified 16th and finished the first race 3rd!!! It was incredible. I finished that race 2nd behind a nuts power BMW, however today he had a mechanical issue and dropped out before the race even began!
So there I was, starting 1st with Bob behind me starting 2nd. We had a clean start and bob was running great right behind me. A full course yellow came out and on the restart we didn’t get enough of a run (my fault!!!) and bob ended up getting caught up with a car he had previously passed. They got into it and let me tell you the footage is awesome.
The full course yellows allowed the field to bunch up, and cars that had problems on Saturday were quickly moving to the front. We ended up having a last lap green rather than finishing under yellow (for the excitement) and let me tell you it was a bit stressful! I got a great run on the start though and ran a fast mistake free lap and held 1st.
So good!!
Wait till you guys see the video there is some awesome smash action
Thanks guys!
Here’s a video I put together with the highlights from the race, big BMW bangin, crazy Honda passing and Subaru brake failures, all leading to SG win!
be honest, which do you prefer the Z or the Genesis?
Can you compare both for us?
Comparing them would simply be comparing racecars, since there’s nothing OE left about them.
But to compare race-car to race-car:
We still have shitty dampers on the genesis, so the turn in and feel of the car over curbing and bumps by far my Z.
The Z has the stock pedals, but the genesis has a nicely made up pedal box, so for pedal control and feel, the Genesis wins by a huge amount. The Z also has a ton of knockback which drives me nuts.
The Z sounds 1000 times better, despite having a nearly idential exhaust setup. The Z also look better in my opinion, although is not as wide.
The Z’s seating position sucks, again due to the stock pedals, so I’m too close to the shifter and steering wheel.
The Z has a much better front suspension design, being double A arm essentially, rather than McPherson strut. So you don’t need to run as much static camber and it makes more overall grip. To it’s disadvantage however it makes the engine bay smaller. That doesn’t really matter once the engine is in and running.
The Genesis has a much higher front weight distribution, but is lighter overall. This makes the genesis harder to setup perfectly, and it’s always wanting to get loose on throttle and understeer on entry.
The Z has more and better aero. It feels incredible at high speed, esspecially on slicks. But that’s just rulebook shit.
To compare the feel you get when you drive them, sound wise the Z wins. Feel wise, because of the seating position and the pedal box, the Genesis does win. I can do consistent 100% laps better in the Genesis than I can in my Z, because of the knockback and pedal issues.
