Well I replaced the small section of galvanized that was leaking with pex today.
Cut through that shit, and wrenched it out.
Hmm wonder why water pressure isn’t that great…Held it up to the light and could barely see any sort of line shining through it.
Patch job pretty much complete for now.
Gotta pick up more fittings and finish at least up to my sink which is about another 2-3’ of pex and some fittings. I might just buy the damn crimper.
with as much galvanized as you have… go buy it. yikes… I’ve got all copper myself, so I keep the plumber’s torch full.
Went ahead and bought the tools yesterday and replaced the rest of the lines up to the sink. No leaks, took a lot less time than working with pvc, or copper.
