Shrives/Hammer DO AMERICA ---56k intense

:usa:

So where do i begin. A little background for everyone. My best friend since i was 8yo signed his life away to the marine corps two years ago. We were pretty much hanging out since we were in middle school. First drink, smoke(s), arresting, etc were together. Enough with all the mushy stuff

Well unfortunately, well not really, he popped a piss test about three months ago after rumors of several guys going to LA’s biggest rave, and they all got tested. It was kind of unfortunate because he isn’t hard into drugs, just got caught at the wrong time.

So, he moves in with a few friends out there in San Bernardino, Socal, where is base was for the past 1.5 years. Eventually he realized he wanted to come home back to buffalo to see his family and get his feet back on the ground for a while. Buttttt…

He has alot of belongings and a car, 97 gtp to be exact, and wants to drive back.

Well i havent seen the kid in fuckin over a year, so i get the go ahead from work and fuckin order my ticket. Pumped and excited to make this happen. Drive from Socal to Buffalo, in 4 days. And be back at work the next day. Yikes.

Fly out there last wendesday morning, 7am from tuffalo to chicago. 2 hour layover :ugh2: then to phoenix for a 2 hour layover :Eyecrazy: and finally to ontario. About 9 hours total, and im already beat.

I get in at about 3pm Cali time, and i go meet all his friends that have replaced me since buffalo :’( lol. We get dinner, and BAM we head East. Yea, it sucked.

Fun and Random Scenic Pics.

“The tissue that made it across the country”
No fvcking lie. I threw this tissue out the window in Socal. My snot must have made a nice adhesive with the antenna and it stayed there until i took it off in West Seneca. What a trooper.

Utah was by far the sweetest state to drive through hands down. It woulda been close to Colorado but the whole time we were in Co it was dark and rainy.

Heading towards the not so-Great Plains. I wish we would have got nice pics of Colorado, but we drove through the night and it was foggy and rainy the entire time :frowning:

St. Louis, where i missed my exit to the highway and got lost in the ghetto. This is by far the cleanest city i have ever seen though.

Anyways, it was a little over 2500 miles, 42 hours of driving time, and only about 15 turns lol. We took Rt 15 NE to about an hour past Denver, then jumped on Rt 70 for about 1700 miles to hit the 271 to eventually reach the 90.

It was quite the adventure and was incredible to actually feel how diverse and large this country is. With this trip ive actually been in over 35 states now since my first vacation with the family. This trip was by far the coolest and most awestruck experience yet.

Cliff notes: Fly out to Cali Wednesday afternoon, drive back to buffalo and arrive Saturday morning at 7am. Only time we slept was in Las Vegas. Oh, and no tickets!!!

the best part.

cool pics

Very nice. I want to do a road trip so badly. I think I’m gonna try for one once I get out of college

that looks like such a good time. i really want to do something like that soon.

why was your gas mileage so shitty?

SilverGayKid was getting high 20s low 30s in his GTP.

Ewww road trips can suck but the weath looked like it was nice. It was probly also a lot of time for your buddy to think how many chances at good jobs he probly tossed away because he poped.

Those nachos looked like pizza- the- hut.

it was a 97 with 110k on it. probably worn/tired

yea the trip was amazing/fun/exhausting all in one. I would deff do it again, and probably will by taking a more scenic route, and not in the 3.5 days next time either. Thanks for the comments, some of the pics are cool, most of them were just spontanious

yea their thru way setup in that city is really confusing. It probably didnt help me though when it was rush hour and i was taking pic’s lol. Thanks
