Probably wouldn’t be real cost effective to rent a trailer every time I wanted to take the snowmobile out next year, so picked this up tonight (craigslist find).
Triton 2 place aluminum tilt bed, new deck, new wheels/tires/bearings, ski slides, track grips, aluminum salt shield and ski lock down bars. Basically all the extras for hauling sleds.
Looks like a 10’ in length? The Tritons are nice trailers, but that small of a salt shield won’t do much, I suggest getting a good fitting cover for your sled if you don’t own one already.
Nope, designed it so the track hits just before the front skis (it’s shaped like a T). Just goose the throttle and the sled drives right on. Drive off the same way, but you have to be careful or it shoots the dolly out pretty far. I stole the idea from here when I didn’t want to pay $300.
And yeah 10’ and I am going to pick up a nice cover for the sled.
Very nice, I miss my sleds. If we had winters like this year, every year I wouldn’t have sold mine. I still have my '81 Arctic Cat Pantera I can bomb around on. lol
Post up some pictures. Got the ugly gold and blue plate put on the trailer Saturday. Other than that I don’t think I’ll be doing much with the sled until next winter now.
Probably in a couple weeks it will be getting gutted for its engine and electronics to be swapped into another sled. Almost sad to see a clean sled get parted out.
the poo’s in that photo are depressing…haha kiddin man.
op, if you intend to keep that trailer for a while, they make fabric clamshell covers that you can mount on em. had one before my buddy got the staggared 4place for racing. even with a cover on the sled and saltshield the salt from the roads does a number on em. plus its easier then messing around with the covers and its storage for the summer months.
i knew you were refering to the trailer. i’m just saying get a sled anyways, then 70% of nyspeed will follow suit and we can make sweet winter riding meets.
I had a sled once, 74 SnoJet SST. When I was 14 I found it in the trash w/ a blown motor. About a week later I found an Arctic Cat Lynx with a good motor and rotted frame so I motor swapped it into the snowjet. It wasn’t my first swap, though.
Bought a 2007 Yamaha Phazer for the bitty on Tuesday. Nice bike for her, she doesn’t go over 80 anyways. Got tuning forks in my veins!!! Nice compliment for my Yamaha Apex.
Edit: shes coming off a 02 SX Viper, prolly not gonna have as much fun in the straight aways with the phazer, but she will be better off in the bumps!
