Here is a pretty good video of the whole thing…
so is that any better for the 10bolt vs launching the car :confused
:nod
:rofl
It is actually much less stressful for the drivetrain to drift around than it is to shock it to death with smonster mustang wheels with huge rubber on them…and Shady, the key to open diff drifts is shocking the rear end, even an open diff will send power to both wheels for a split second with a clutch kick.
oh and I’m down for the Shift 518 drift challenge
when are we doing this thing?
we? awd audi drift? :confused
we as in shift518 peeps. i doubt i’ll be participating. maybe ill do it with some snow in my car, but Nick can. Maybe, in the winter, you can drift your evo and i can ride shotgun? ;D
I think we should organize something like a drift competition. Find some big open lot, maybe an abandoned plaza or something. Stick some cones out there and spraypaint a path the cars would take. Have people sign a simple waiver, that says “if i hit shit, its my own fault and im not suing anyone” and get like 4-5 ppl to judge it. it’ll be amateur as hell, but it should be fun. we just need to find an out of the way spot. i dont know how to get permission from town for something like this. but if anyone has suggestions, please let us know. itll make things easier.
I can, but I wont ;D
you use “organize” pretty loosely. You’ll need a lot of luck to find a lot that will let you do anything like this, legally.
Yeah that’s the issue, space/willingness to allow HUGE marks on their pavement.
goes to google earth to look for large parking lots visible from space
D’AWWWW! come on! :nod i wont ask you to tandem in snow, because we’ll wreck the cars, but i still wana do that in the inter. itll be fun. ever tried to dorifto a mid size sedan? its great!
and far as organizing the shindig? well, i guess we have two ways of doing it. find a spot thats far and we wont get hassled, but its not quite legal OR we somehow get permission from the town we do it in. thing is, if we go thru a town we’ll need permits and insurance and all kinds of expensive stuff, ya know? we’d have to charge ppl like 2-3 bucks to observe and like 15 per driver if not more. you know what i mean? plus i dont think everybody has helmets and yadda yadda yadda. but if somebody knows how to do this kind of thing, id love to help out. ill go out and get some cans of paint so we can at least indicate corners and and whatnot. i really know nothing about how to organize a legal event like this. i mean, we can just always find some place far from anything, stick some cones out or spray paint lines and just have ppl go and burn up a some tires and a clutch.
Benny, can you split this topic and rename it to “Shift518 Dorifto shinding” so we have a separate thing going? Thanks, mang.
I’ll just make a new thread.
That works. Thank you.
Threads made look in the Shift518 Events section.
evo will never see snow. I use my 4x4 dakota for all my winter shenanigans
STOP FUCKING SAYING DORIFTO!!!
does that go sideways?
…in snow
