Smoked tails and LED bulbs

Some will work OK in turn signal applications where the lens is clear. But if the lens is colored it generally kills the output. Basically, you dont want to have to worry about people not knowing your stopping, but turning is less of a issue. Other than the whole hyperflashing issue…

The high power ones, 3+watt, work fine for turn signals, but you need a electronic flasher, or stupid load resistors that are just wasting power and could cause problems.

Dont screw with your brake lights…

luxeon k2 star LED’s are the only thing that I would use for a taillight. 4 of them are about the output of a fog lamp. they are pretty nice.

Other than 4 of them would require some decent heatsinking and custum work not many people would like to / know how to do. But yes, they are bright.

Id say too bright for the average tail light where you would want more even lighting. Where 30-60 super flux led’s would do the job perfect. 5 1/2 lumens each, 250+ lumens of blistering red light is bright enough for a single brake light…

Here nice one

That things awesome ^

Those front amber turn signals are led, correct? If so, BA…

I just picked up these sidemarkers as well:

may i ask where you buy the stuff to do this

The sidemarkers are custom.

VHT Nite Shades is a spray you can probably buy at K&S

i was thinking one K2 per light circuit but yeah it would still probably require a heatsink.

one of my buddies made a flashlight with 4 of them in a 18V drill battery flashlight. sick bright and it lasts for 1.5hrs continuous on.
