Been looking for a good AE86 chassis for awhile to replace my current rusty daily and found it.
-Has a dent in the right-rear quarter with surface rust, besides that tiny bit of rust on the hatch. No other rust to be found.
-Fully documented maintenance up until 271k miles. Currently has 284k.
-Has all the missing A/C parts I needed.
-Needs a good polish, and cleaning.
-Still has factory brochures, manual, floormats, and radio.
One owner to that point, then a kid neglected it for the last 10k+ by not doing any maintenance. Overall it held up okay, should be home by Monday so I can start tearing into it. Stripping most of the interior and putting the clean stuff from my other one in it. Then parting the old one most likely as it’s beyond saving within reason, shame because it’s been a great car I’ll miss it.
Just finally got it home started going through records. First owner was super OCD about maintence, litterally anything at all was written no matter how small. Starting in the warranty manual, and once that was overfilled to a notebook.

Around 2007 it starts getting quite difficult to read, and a lot less mileage stopping at;
Whomever this guy was went to one hell of a length to keep it maintained prior to the last owner beating on it a bit. I honestly almost feel bad at the thought of doing anything to it beyond fixing the dent/paint/anything I find and driving it.
This is what I’ve been doing with the MR2 since I bought it. A little over a year of ownership and I’ve got a page and half of mileage, maintenance and notes for this car. Now looking back, I’ve only put about 5k miles on the car and I’ve changed the oil 3 times and flushed the coolant twice.
Back when I was a kid my dad’s friend had the cleanest AE86 I’ve ever seen, bright red, one owner, all stock. I thought that car was so cool. He stored it every winter from day one, then sold it a few years ago after moving to AZ.
