He has had bikes for many years.
Big thumping harley motor or no go…
defeats the purpose if its italian… might as well throw an i-4 in a raked frame if you were gonna do that.
defeats the purpose if it’s reliable and actually produces more power than noise… might as well throw an i-4 in a raked frame if you were gonna do that.
Fixed
This one sounds pretty damn good!
Not a cruiser fan myself, but the bike in the pic you posted is pretty sweet. I was actually thinking about a similar project some time back but but harley “tech” is so dated and so overpriced for what it is. Not to mention, a hard tail will kill you on long trips. But if you get creative with the powerplant it could be a bad ass little project. There was a bike in a magazine that I read a few years back that was powered by a B13 rotary (ill try to find the link). Thats a little more my style but to each their own:)
That monster sounds like shit
i would not reccomend leaving the belt drive exposed like that. I know a guy that got his pant leg and foot caught up in one.
tell your guy friend to stop wearing jnco’s
I run open primary.
please run a bad ass one.
That little thing looks bad ass. Didn’t Honda have a V5 for one of their GP bikes a few years ago?
have you heard of the kits to convert a wrekced buel into a donor for a chopper? bolt on the front forks, wheels, and motor…paint the frame, get a chopper tank and fenders, done deal. costs about $10k to build on average donor bike included in that estimate…
SO, your building a sporty?
with inverted forks, aluminum wheels, and huge brakes
I like the bike newman posted in the pics. I have a subscription for hot bike, I get a lot of nice custom ideas from there, they always feature something pretty interesting looking each month. I say go for it.
not a bad idea either.
Or you could just get a 1200 sporty, swap on buell heads, brakes. Hell you could find someone that already did the wheel swap with mods. rake the frame to where you want it. There is PLENTY of fork options. Hell you could use dirtbike forks if you re valve.
Or you could just build whatever you want because as stated in the original post, it doesn’t have to fit a certain mold.
Yeah… that’s what I’m thinking… I’d rather not have too much outside influence… if I build something that’s been done before by accident, oh well… but trying to build to specific style is not my goal.
I’m sure that whatever you come up with will end up being pretty cool. You seem to have a good eye.
Building a bike has always seemed a lot less involved than a car, so it’d be a cool project to get into and have some faster results.
