I actually think he wouldnt… the ducati fits in with the 600’s in weight class/cornering, and the Litre bike in power/performance… the busa is a obvious beast… very heavy, and very powerful, not so good at cornering.
the difference between a 600 and a 1000 is top speed?? ha. right, a friends ZX10R will stand up in 3rd stock, where most 600s may hover the front tire a few inches off the ground in 2nd stock… the average 1/4mile time for a 600 is in the lower 11s @ 120-125 with the common rider where a 1000 with go in the 10s with your average comfortable rider at 135-140+… big difference with ~25more hp with almost the same weight. i guess its up to you, im not a stunter so im not gonna try hanging wheelies as i know i cant
At the valley, i would say the average rider was hitting high 11’s if not low 12’s on 600’s at 112-118, and 1000’s were hitting low 11’s to high 10’s at 120-125. The white gsxr1000 has a swing arm, sprocket, and a 50shot… and was running 9.9’s @ 145, and Greg smith on his 5" swing arm, piped/tuned busa cutting 1.63 60’ running 10.02 @ 139. And he is well known, and a very very very good rider.
shrug Take it with a grain of salt. I do not share his opinion, just sharing the thoughts of someone who has successfully made the move that Swifty might.
I think the point he was trying to make is, anything 600 or above is fucking fast. He’s lumping them into beginner bikes VS. bikes for experienced riders.
atleast i’ve been that fast before… so the desire to get there on a bike isnt as great. Its not like this bike is going to be the first thing i’ve had that was capable of high speeds. I get scared in my car, so i can only imagine w/ 2 less wheels, less time operating/getting comfortable, and air on both sides of me, i’m pretty sure ill keep it slow for a while.
matt went low 11s wednesday night at 120-124 on his 06 gsxr 600 with a slip-on, nothing more. and im aware of what greg smith runs. and my friend has a zx10r with a PC on it and hes going in the 140s with it.
