Soldier in Iraq Refuses Combat Mission. FINALLY! Read on....

As a person that has been to korea for a year, did two trips to afghanistan, and sitting in fort carson, CO getting ready to ship off the birds for a 3rd trip, I have no sympathy for this fuckin turd. Man up, do the job YOU signed up to do and get on with it. No on likes getting shot at, no one likes burrying friends, no one likes taking rounds. But thats life, it ain’t fair, but some one has to do it.

Fucking coward/deserter should be shot summarily.

Rich

Please help him by contacting his Senator … http://mcconnell.senate.gov/contact.cfm

Thanks for the link… fired off an email to the senator. Basically, I asked that this pathetic example of cowardice spend life in Leavenworth .

You mean the price of being a man and upholding your word that you swore an oath to?
You mean they oath of getting treated like an immigrant? I think the guy that stood up and finally said NO is being a man. He served his time. Why should he have to suffer and his family suffer because OUR government doesn’t know what they are doing?

No, the oath to obey ALL orders of his superiors. A sucessfull military is NOT a democracy among the ranks.

Was his family government issued?

NO.

That was his choice. He brought that upon his family through his dicision.

Sucks but no matter how much you may hate it, or how much you may disagree with everything thats going on, no one forced you to sign on the dotted line.

He needs to stfu and just finish up his deployment and get out of the military asap like i did
I’m pretty sure that is the reason he said no, there is no definitive end for his deployment. I understand that all of these people signed up for this, but you can’t blame them for speaking up after getting treated like this in a “war” that is run by a president that is as smart as the baby blue neon crew. That would make me say NO too.

because he voluntarily signed himself into the military knowing full well that if we go to war he is expected to follow orders and fight.

We don’t have any success in this excursion. Have you watched the news or read any news in the last few year?

are you capable of reading, where did I say this operation was successful?

SPC in question VOLUNTARILY signed up to have GWBush as his COMMANDER IN CHIEF. This is a VERY clear statement before he even leaves town.

You are trying to justify his disregard, and there is no way to do so.

As if: You sign for a new Bimmer 335, sign a 50k loan, then 3k miles later you decide you do not like how BMW is running their corporate operations so you stop paying your loan.

:bloated:

The only ones i feel bad for are the ones who signed up in peacetime under clinton, they couldn’t have possibly seen this coming.
But then again, that’s what you get for trusting the american public to pick a suitable commander for you

Even if there were a draft, you don’t abandon your brothers. This is (far) above politics.

When there was a draft, you could apply for “conscientious objector” status. Some conscientious objectors are unwilling to serve the military in any capacity, while others accept noncombatant roles or civilian service instead of military service. Alternatives to military or civilian service include serving an imprisonment or other punishment for refusing conscription. Choosing one of those alternative is honorable. Muhammed Ali was an example of someone who honorably refused to serve. He went to jail for his convictions and lost years of fighting during the peak of his boxing career. This cost him millions of dollars as well as his freedom. Many people, myself included, respect him for having the courage of his convictions.

Refusing legal orders in a combat situation is about as low as you can go. Anyone who does it is a contemptible coward, a cur, who should be shot summarily.

You are on crack. Not only could we see it coming we were BEING TRAINED for it. We got sitreps almost monthly about hotspots we thought might blow up and we were trained in anticipation. Please stop talking about what you don’t know or understand.

during the clinton years you had to expect al gore was gonna get elected, and our military involvement was stuff like kosovo, where we bombed and left. Do you think we’d be in Iraq if he was president? if you’re john q. public from kansas or something, you couldnt be expecting a 5-year war and counting if you enlisted in 2000.

The military is there for a reason, and it’s not for a free picnic. Some people don’t realize that when they sign up.

Yes, maybe you are not though. The military we have now is not successful at what they are doing.
