I have a 408 at Howards, Callies crank and rods, coated diamond pistions / just needs to go in for refresh of bearings. Has 3000 miles on it. Have it cheap! Shortblock only. I paid like 1400 for the crank and maybe 750 for the rods alone. Yours for $1500, just have Howard or Dave Hunts or whomever do the bearings/ maybe do rings while inside of course, but hone marks look fresh still! The block was also new when I had it built.

Its about 8.25 to 1 with hogged out ls6 chambers with no milling, could be brought to 9 to 1 or whatever with a variety of different heads/ I believe it lost a cam bearing which is why I yanked it, it used oversized cam bearings and several motors built in that era with those bearings spun them. ARP bolts, new block when I had it built. Iron, ran it past 22lbs on at least one occasion.
Still a sweet upgrade right there.

cocky?? nope a 408 w/ a 200 shot in a 4400lb truck will easily run 11’s, check out youtube, there is an ls2 408 runnin 9.9 @ 139!
