I was out at NJMP Lighning for competition school last friday, and raced on Saturday and Sunday. I have a lot of footage, but not much time to edit. Here is a one of the laps from the fun race following the competition school on friday.
If there was unlimited edit times on motorsports post like there use to be I would add:
LeMons & Chump Car are cheaper ways to getting into wheel to wheel racing.
LeMons is more novice friendly and fun, most cars on track and always someone to race.
Chump is more “hard core” and competitive.
NASA is allows your car to be classed on the mods you want to do.
SCCA is very strict on your mods, having very structured classing.
The school on friday was exhausting with all the classroom and on track sessions. I got a lot more out of the track sessions/drills than the classroom. We did passing drills, and drove the whole track two & three wide which was very helpful.
Training was Driver education events for the past 3 years
Nice! I did my NASA school there a few years ago as well. It was a blast! My “fun” race included a total of 8 cars, I didn’t get to stick around for the actually racing that weekend because I was down 2 cylinders .
Will I see you at the Glen or any other NASA events this season? I’m in SpecE30…
