I did dream of owning a 300zx, maybe someday.
The Jag XJ220 is one of those forgotten cars. The McLaren gets a ton of love from that generation. Crazy what they did with a V6.
I’m pretty blown away by it too. My friend has a 95 he bought with 1.3 miles on it in the early 2000’s. Never titled (until he bought it.) He has a spare motor and transmission.
You wouldn’t believe the $$$ he spent on it, and then the money he spent on the Dymag wheels for it too.
I think a lot of the hatred would go away if you were to actually be able to drive one of these cars. It’s truly a masterpiece in every manner.
a very good friend of mine’s dad has one of these that we had out maybe 10 years ago. we got caught going 232kph on the 403 in it. Fun times.
this is great if the guy is going to preserve it and drive it sparingly. They will certainly go up in value at some point so it’s not a bad investment.
What did they do to you for going that fast?

Thank you Lotus for designing the engine that produced 400 horsepowders. Heartbeat of England FTW.
Horsepowder.
I think these are great cars and it was deffinetly a solid buy. I probably wouldn’t buy one but if the poper deal fell in my lap I would.
I did some reasearch on these before i bought my W12. I wanted something neat that I could track and tinker with to get more power, but those engines are pretty well setup and don’t make big power compared to what is out there now. I was seeing high mile ones for low to mid teens a couple years ago.
Two more pages of this thread and I’ll be able to find one that cheap enough to race in chumpcar.

i saw this thing in person at the Steve McQueen auto show earlier this year
friend’s dad was/is in the C-suite for one of the largest companies in Niagara… daddy’s lawyers had the case thrown out.
this was before the 50 over = license suspension law. the ticket was $11 per km over the limit so like $1300+ and a mandatory court appearance.
Believe me, I know all about him. Just surprised that wasn’t already picked up on earlier in the thread.
My uncle had a real ZR-1 back when they first came out. Dumbass wrapped it around a tree in the rain.
