haha, I know there are all kinds of different stories past down from families to families.
the story I was told was that cable guy or someone with the power company was working on a pole near there and he was struck by lightning. from there people have all kinds of different stories about him killing people afterwards and dragging them into the tunnel lol.
the tunnel below I have grown up being told it was called “Corvette Tunnel”.
stories have it way back when, 2 corvettes were drag racing down that main stretch of road and didnt know the tunnel was so tight, they couldnt stop in time, both drivers wrecked and died a horrible death.
these are “stories” I have been told from my family years ago. I dont know if there is any truth to them but it would be kinda cool if someone could dig up some info on these tunnels.
