Put the new battery in and it’s fine. Looks like I had everything connected correctly. Too bad I didn’t get the battery checked on Monday instead!

FYI - talked to a guy at work and he said that when batteries sit a long time (mine sat for 9 months), lead phosphate crystals can grow on the plates, effectively creating a battery inside the battery, leading to the change in polarity.

I knew I didn’t screw up the wiring. :smiley:
