Spec Miata takes flight (literally)

One of the cars I help fix and crew for in my spare time. This happened a few weeks ago in NJ. Surprisinly nothing was bent or broken bad. Just a toe fix, a few zip ties to stich up a huge gash in the front bumper, a hammering out of both fenders, a new headlight, undertray and lip spoiler. Got it back good enough to do the 13hr last weekend at VIR where I heard it got beat up even more lol. Gonna need alot of TLC this winter.

EDIT: The hanging dirvers fender apparently happened a few laps before this incident.

Apparently the blue car spun out and came across the track in front of the black car at full opposite lock. Our guy managed to hit tire on tire and get a little air.

MIATA RAMP!

haha climbed a wheel!

Glad nobody was hurt. Good to see minimal damage in an accident that could have been far far worse!

flyin’ miata! nice!

Ya, seeing this how he didnt roll it is pretty incredible.

Dan

now that would have been funny if they sponsored that car

wow… cool.

Im stoping by the shop tonight to see the damage from the 13hr on this and also what happned to the other Miata they ran and the front end damage to the RX8 from when it found the back of a porsche. Sounds like everything needs fixing…

Dan

That’s great!!!

“Wonder twins power active! Shape of a blue Spec Miata…shape of a black Spec Miata. Lets go fly!”

It must have the knight rider “turbo boost” button.

X…

Sorry watching the show on TV now. LOL

It’s always a weird internal reaction to see a car that you’re crewing for/working on take some damage. It’s almost personal in a way. Glad to hear no one was hurt!
