never said that it didnt look nice, multi colored was in referance to the 3 or 4 tone red/marron/blue/gold paint scheme…bassass car from what I could tell.
The prices are the best around. They’re low to begin with and then you get a discount if you can get 8 more people to dyno. Or atleast that’s how it used to be.
I remember the Type R guys were putting down like 150 - 160 hp when then usually put down 170hp on dynojets.
Wasn’t there some talk about SpeedNation moving the Dyno to McB Autosport in Bridgeville? Last time I talked to Mark (which was a while back), he mentioned something about it.

We were going to move the dyno to McB and run our retail out of a different facility but then the Castle Shannon property became available and we jumped on it. This way we can have all of our business in one location and under our control.
Time to bring this thread back from the dead. Here’s how things are progressing…
We finally got all the permits and crap done and the block walls are up. There will be a wooden structure built on top of those four foot walls and that will give us enough height so we can install out lift in the one bay and the dyno will be sunk into the floor in the other one.
We’ll be running the dyno and doing customer work on cars too. Pretty much whatever you want, we’ll be able to do. I’ve got a tech already hired and ready to come to work when when get the building done. We’re working on a budget and I figure the dyno should be running in another month or two.
I’ll keep everyone posted.
awesome. we need something like that in the area
Yeah, I’ve talked to them once at the store and have seen them post on other boards and they seem cool and able to drop mad knowledge at the blink of an eye. Don’t let the die cast stuff scare you away. Also they had some cool die cast stuff when I was there.
They have been at north park autox for as long as i can remember… interesting to see how things progress.
This will give an idea of how sick I really am…
I started with this in my garage,
Then I got some spray paint,
And some airtools,
Next I’ll use my sawzall on it.
dooooo eeeeet
I’d actually prefer to sell the entire shell to somebody just so I don’t waste my time and energy cutting it up.
Oh, here’s why I’m cutting up the Corolla.
I’m putting the engine, tranny and suspension under my Starlet.
That is ultra sexy. I can say no more.
It’ll look better with the old school fender flares bolted on, a rollbar and an extra 75HP under the hood.
I agree 100%. I wonder how many people who see that car will even know what it is. That is awesome. I was lusting after a starlet on Ebay a couple of months ago but don’t have the garage space at the moment. I can’t wait to see that car when it’s done. Good luck and keep us up to date as to what you guys are up to. And if you have any thing project wise up for sale…
I’ve got a crap load of AE86 parts that need to go. I guess I’ll post them in the classified section right now. Duh.
thats correct it was in mcdonald and the neighbors started to bitch about people dynoing drag cars but yeah i did hear some complaints about the dyno giving weird numbers
Go back and read the previous posts. All will be revealed…
BTW, here’s a short clip of a SpeedNation dyno run from back in April 2003. It’s my buddy’s turbocharged 5SFE 2.2L. [WMV File (1.7MB)](http://www.nbcpgh.org/beck/5sfte dyno.wmv) He was pleased with the results because it gave him some true numbers. The numbers coincided accurately with timeslips.
I was truly impressed with the guys at SpeedNation. They don’t sit around bench racing and BS’ing about JDM this or kouki that. Too bad they moved from their McDonald location because there are a ton of roads around there to have some fun.
Oh yeah…The picture of my MR2 in my sig was taken at SpeedNation in McDonald.
George, that is ALL you!
That starlet is just spewing sickness! I might have found myself a new endevour hehehehe
“Giving weird #s”? No one complains when they’re high #s, so it’s gotta be folks that aren’t happy with their newfound low hp reality. I remember when I was getting my GTI dyno’d at Speed Nation, there was a cat with a supercharged Corrado VR6 and he was certain there was something wrong with the dyno as his #s were so low. Yet my #s were right where I thought they should be and they were good.
The only downside to Speed Nation’s dyno was the lack of AFR…I’ve taken care of that formyself, however…;.
