SR J-pipe - wait or install

here’s the deal.

i have one of these things coming in from the states:

http://www.jgycustoms.com/240sx/images/topspeedjpipe.jpg

it was shipped out on the 16th of july, and still is not here.

my engine is out and the SR is waiting to go in.

should we proceed with install or wait another X weeks for this thing to show up??

now that the drift day is cancelled there is no real rush, but also no gaurantee that the pip will arrive any time soon…\

NEVER HAVE ANYTHING SHIPPED WITH USPS…they are the devil’s little children.

also, how difficult will the intsall be if the engine is already installed?

Crack them all loose now, take out a couple if you want, then whe nit comes in just remove it put the new one and bolt it as tight as you can. Make sure you get them really toight or it’ll back off on you. Use lock washers.

It’s pretty simple to change while in the car, but take Sasha’s advice
Crack all the botls loose now while the motors out oh and Crack that
damn oil filter loose while its out of the car.

If you want to pop the engine in, make sure you loosen up the old one so it isn’t a pain to get off. But I would wait if it was me. I hate laying under the car removing downpipes, I could imagine a turbo elbow thats been on for 12 years.

BTW I didn’t know you had an SR bing. Congrats bud!

ok deal…

btw, since i will have this piece seperate for a while, they shall be copied…

who wants Sr dumpipes??? lol

I took my original off before I put the engine in. I put the new Greddy one on when the engine was in. It was not too dificult but one of the 2 of the bolts were a pain.

If you are just waiting for that one part I would do as I did that way you can get other work done.
