SR20 air conditioning going into a non A/C car

I want the a/c unlike every other thread on how to remove it.

Ive got everything figured out except the wiring which is really a pain.

All i think i know is that theres a single switched ground wire(blue w/Green stripe) that runs from the climate control into the SR ecu at pin 41.

after passing threw the ECU which bumps up the idle theres an A/C on output (Air conditioner on relay signal) - Green w/Black stripe pin 106

After this im lost.

Is it as easy as putting in my own relay using the signal from the ECU pin 106 to start up the compressor for wiring??

In picture A. i believe this is the pressure switch and it has 2 wires that will connect the circuit and allow the relay to flick over only when its got the sufficient pressure in the system.

B. Is a outside air temp sensor?? I don’t know what or why this is used on the A/C system and martino’s car didn’t have a digital climate control but this was still there. I dont know if i need this or not atm…maybe when i go with a digital climate control

There are two plugs that are crossed off and were not used when in the 180sx and have plugs in them from nissan sealing them off.

As for the hardlines the only thing you dont see in my pics is the compressor which is on the motor and the hardlines that run from the condenser(a/c rad) to the compressor and to the firewall of the car. If anyone can shed some light on the wiring mainly id be glad to make a nice detailed DIY how to get A/C in your sr’d S13 wether it has a/c already or not.

heres my best sources that i found

Devin, you can come by and check out where it went in exactly on my car if it’s any help.
Pretty much when we snipped the clip at your house is where it all went in however.

BAMM i got this on lockdown now. Im going to be using my own harness for the A/C so this can be done to anyone’s car with a bit of wire and a good relay.

All you need is the reciever dryer, Binary switch(mounted ontop of the reciever dryer on the 180sx), temperature switch and the condenser(rad) and compressor with the lines to connect it all. Im assuming you have the A/C core behind the dash with the lines that go threw the firewall, if you dont you’ll need to get one out of a car with A/C.

A is the Receiver Dryer
B is the Temperature Switch - series to compressor.
C is the Binary Switch.
The rad in the back is the Condenser, Only the sensors ill be using in junction with my own wiring

Heres a quick wiring diagram showing where the sensors will go in the system. The binary switch and temperature switch are both wired in series. Verryy simple.

The wire running from the climate control to SR ecu PIN 41 should be a blue/green wire and is grounded when the A/C button is pressed
You then need to find pin 106(green black wire) on the SR ecu and run that wire to the binary switch then the relay.

Heres your S13 SR ecu plug

As for the wiring for the relay

85 > ECU pulled to ground when on.
86 > Ignition 12+ (2amps) (this way it turns off with the key.)
30 > 12+ constant at least 20 amps
87 > Temp Sw > Compressor clutch

This has only been tested and reviewed on paper so its not 100% until i actually install everything and feel the cool breeze. When its all working ill do a nice write up

MARTINO!!* can you please tell me where the temperature sensor was located plz and thank you for being my only help! <3

That temp switch was just chilling right infront of the condensor to the right of the dryer.

isnt that temp switch mounted right under the hood latch on that center support for the rad cradle?

and arent 30 and 87 normally closed? meaning if u have constant power to 30 then then the switch off 87 will have constant power… or am i backwards here with 87a?[COLOR=“Silver”]

wanna hook me up with some ac once ur done figuring it out on your car?

G.L with this!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Wiring for the pin outs is correct

I may not be getting onto this project until maybe fall when the donor car is off the road for the season

i have an sr20det a/c compressor and pump/unit for cheap if anyone wants it
