I know it sounds kinda simple, but does anybody have any experiance with getting their SR drive cleaned?? How do you deal with running an SR and getting it drive cleaned? What about a KADET? Anybody with a KA-t get it drive cleaned??
What do you mean how do you deal with getting it drive cleaned? Its simple, its just the same as getting any other car done. If you have a stock sr20 with basic bolt ons and you have a cat it should pass if its running right. Who ever tells you that sr’s dont pass either doesnt know what there talking about or have a shit motor thats running like ass.
sr’s run cleaner then ka24’s…
change oil, make sure ure o2 and cat work ok, and retard ure timing to 2-3 degrees…car will pass for sure if ure motors 1/2 decent, unless u have a bad leak and its running super rich somewhere…
most sr’s ive dealt with passed …even highly modded ones infact with stand alones and tuned ecus…
If you get it tested as hot rod it will pass no problem. Hot rod just means that the car has an engine not offered in that chassis. It will not affect your insurance in any way.
I had mine tested under Hot Rod at a Canadian Tire (stock SR, w/ cat).
Car would have horribly failed under regular emissions standards.
