I just bought an SR20DET and the oil pump is missing this circle cap thing on the oil pump. It looks kinda like a frost plug. So basically if i crank it oil just pours out of the hole.

How can i plug this? And i dont feel like changing the whole oil pump assembly/front cover…
could this have been used for an external oil cooler? There has to have been a reason that the plug was removed. Are there no threads in the piping? I guess i would have the oil go through the filter before containating my cooler.
If you were to tap it, then you have to remove the cover because you don’t want the pump and pan all full of aluminum filings.
