She has found and fallen in love with a Black 2001 Hyundai Tiburon. The car looks and seems mechanically sound but idk jack about these little gook cars.
I googled as much as I can and it seemed like most of the repair complaints were issues you’d have with any car and the repair costs actually seemed fairly cheap.
Anyone had previous experience with these things good or bad?
I mean she is a respectful driver would does alot of driving in traffic and city driving for her job so I need a sound platform
Never try to change a woman’s mind…just a piece of advice. If you find a well maintained one she will probably get tired of it before you have problems with it.
My wife had one a while ago and hated it. The rear hatch leaked badly, all 4 wheel bearings went within the first year she bought it, and the ride in it sucked just as bad. Luckily I was able to talk the dealership into giving her more than it was worth trading it in for her Jeep.
I don’t know all that much about that particular generation of tiburon, but the one after is basically the same as an elantra from the same year. Meaning, if you can keep it from rusting, its a decent car that’s great on gas. My friend’s old 2004 elantra survived a lot of really stupid things that should have killed it. Him letting his sister drive it and then ignore the fact it was overheating is what did it in.
2001-2005 civics are shitboxes, I’d honestly rather have an elantra from those years.
