St. Catharines Jumpers

ARTICLE

Ontario Provincial Police had to shut down the Niagara-bound lanes of the QEW Wednesday about 8:30 p.m. for several hours after a man jumped from the Niagara St. overpass and was killed.

Thursday morning shortly before 9 another man jumped from the Niagara-bound side of Garden City Skyway.
His body was recovered from the Welland Canal by Niagara Regional Police divers.

Both men were residents of St. Catharines — one in his fifties and one in his sixties.

pretty crazy to have two of these in a 12 hour period… hope it’s nobody i know or the fathers of people i know.

I drove through each area multiple times today with no indication that anything had happened yesterday.

How high is that?

lol…

High enough to jump off of

Ugh. I grew up in the area of the Niagara St. Bridge. That thing is maybe 30ft up so I feel bad for whoever was unlucky enough to run into him.

Stupid people.

RIP. how high is the water death jump?

Quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line…

They must have pissed off the wrong trees

Pretty high. I’m thinking about a couple hundred.

^says the guy who said he and scott jumped off 500ft cliffs.

lol

That looks about the same as the GI south bridge, which is 98 feet.

That green one near the steel mills on the way to Mississauga on the other hand seems like a way better place to off yourself.

Nevermind. That’s the burlington bay skyway. Wikipedia says 118 feet. Doesn’t say to the deck or the top of the structure, but it looks like it must be to the deck.

I heard two women jumped off the peace bridge this week also.

I heard about one. She lived. I was surprised. The water gets all sorts of deep and turbulent just downstream of the peace bridge.

jumping into water is gay… drowning is not as fun as instant impact death.

Aim for the bushes

^^ YES!

Water death is 50-100’ depending on how you hit the water. Feet-first pencil style is easier to survive with minimal/no injuries vs a belly-flop or landing flat on your back.

USCG swimmer regularly jump out of Rescue Helo’s in the 20’-40’ range.

World record highdive is more than 170 feet! He did like 5 flips and twists too… I was nervous just doing a front flip off a 40 footer yesterday haha…

you’re such a pussy
