Can you think of any tall bridges in the area?

Just trying to come up with some new shit to investigate. It really needs to be 150 feet or higher but I’ll verify that type of stuff later. By “in the area” I mean within an hour or so. I’ll drive further for a solid lead.

No border crossing bridges.

Here are ones that I know of.

1)springville 219 bridge old & new & RR
2)transit in elma (unknown height)
3)all the bridges over 18 mile creek are too low
4)The grand island bridges are pretty tall to the top

can you think of any more?

do you mind jumping into water? Not sure since you got the parachute and what not. if so I got a couple of bridges in mind.

A) How far are you willing to go for something?
B) What about bridges in Canada?

Canada OK but probably already known. I’m tryin to tap the unjumped western NY sector. Water is OK if it’s “worth it” but I can set it down in pretty tight areas.

ever go to that one?

Hate to point out the obvious but… Letchworth?

Wikipedia says it’s 240 feet high. I’ve been on top of that sucker and man it’s freaky to look down.

I know people who have.

Letchworth would be fucking dicey because the only good landing area is down past the waterfall.

I would think that you would attempt it just for the challenge.

The thing is a failed challenge can result in deadness, which I am trying to avoid.

The Letchworth bridge would be awesome. State parks are probably tougher to pull this type of thing off, and make sure you go during the dry season.

Yep.

So I went here and sorted by state. The only tall bridges on the list that are in Western New York are border crossings that cross the Niagara River. The Letchworth bridge isn’t listed though so this list can’t be comprehensive.

Here’s one that is probably 2.5 hours away, 270 feet though:

Yeah, that’s missing tons and tons of info.

Emlenton does look good. Think I’ve seen vids of it… but that may be infringing on other’s “turf”

Brooklyn bridge

3382 gorge Rd, Trumansburg, NY.

Google map it an follow “black diamond trail” north till it crosses the river. Thats Taughannock Falls right there. 212ft waterfall and the surrounding rocks are a good bit higher.

this is the black diamond trail bridge: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/22549440

there are a few in rochester like:

2)transit in elma (unknown height) Is this the one where transit turns into Southwestern?

Is that always a water landing? Does it freeze?

Yeah. SOmeone told me it was 150 but IDK if I believe it.

It would take some scouting, but I think there is a bunch of area off to the sides of the water… I’m not sure if it freezes. You might want to just drive up and down the the genessee river and check out all of the pedestrian and road bridges, there are bunch that are high up like this one.

Good to know. I’ll look into it next time I have some daylight!

The one in Elma isn’t 150ft.
