Stereo Wiring Help

I know, i never bought one… And yes my amps actually put out more power than they advertise 8)

JL Audio Baby

I doubt they put out more… what do they advertise? What fuse(s) do they have? Most (not all) amp companies straight up lie when it comes to claimed power…

well put it this way, im running 2 JL 2w0’s in a custom fiberglass enclosure in my 240 hatch, and a JL audio 250/1 RMS amp worth(700.00)…You get what you pay for… although i didnt’ pay near that.
anyways point is these 2 12’s off 125 rms each, pound harder than alot of other subs i have heard in smaller cars too… example: friend has 3 mtx 12" 9000 series subs at 400 RMS advertised watts per sub, in a small little 92 civic hatchback, and they dont do near the job mine do…you can hear them yourself, JL audio as some people may know are the SHIZZNIT!

JL makes good stuff I’ll second Shift_Krunk.
And the amps rating on the case is usually max peak power (and every company has a different way of measuring that …). For example I think the s*** at walmart is at 15V with 100% distortation heh.

A more indicative figure is RMS power, at a low THD. All the respectable amp companies will supply this figure. Rockford Fosgate amps even come with a little ‘birth’ sheet showing their tested RMS power at the factory.

And it definetly is true that you get what you pay for. Don’t go by the ratings … go by what they are selling for (and how heavy they are! really!)

Thanks for the backup Sven…
For any of you who want to knock JL… Ill just laugh
For instance there 10" W7 sub by itself…
Will POUND THE CRAP out any SUV like a Escalade EXT…
Yet again that sub alone is over 1000 bucks brand new and another easy 1000 for the amp… but you can find it online (Ebay) cheaper
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Just check out there site

pretty nice stuff
Im running Full JL Audio all around in My 240 8)

Yes I have to agree JL does make good equipment… and they probibly aren’t lying by much… only maybe on the efficiency of their class D amplifiers. I have to say though… If your friend had his speakers set up right they would produce more spl… simple physics… not that it would sound better. I like JL’s products… do you have pics of your setup? I would like to see your fiberglassing…

Except it comes down to the power you are feeding the subs.
Espically since subs with higer power ratings usually need more power to make the same noise (bigger voice coils etc …)

Iggy…if someone could host them i can send them…

Wiring is easy man, took me 10 min. Just read his diagram its simple.

Dude, I figured it out too. thats not THE TOPIC nomore lol… Old news…
