I agree with everyone else, atleast he died while he was doing something he loved…exploring and amdimiring the wildlife of this planet.

Fox news said that there hasn’t been a stingray related death in decades…go figure.
RIP to that crazy aussie.
PS. You know that you’re a big deal when every major 24 hour news channel is whoring out your tragic death at the same time.
If you look at the video on CNN.com they show the barb. Apparently it went right through his heart. That sucks. He has two little kids too.
i am with zerodaze on this. lol i dont care how much i love cars…getting hit by one doesnt show up on my list of ways to go…pretty sure he would want to die painless in his sleep as opposed to being stuck with sharp objects

That was a suprisingly unexpected way to die. Definatly sucks though, this dude didn’t just have balls of steel, more like balls titanium.
Ya… crappy way to go. There is only 2 other known cases of death by Stingray. Sounds like they’re a bitch when they do get ya though. Painful as hell from that barb at the base of their tail.

That dude was an icon, a media created icon worldwide, but you cannot deny his love and passion. You cannot just think of him as some crazy croc hunter…his job was the direction of Australias Zoo…thats huge…I am sure he did some amazing things there and hopefully his legacy with that is carried on.
