I’m selling an STI 6 speed transmission with the PPG dog engagement straight car 4 gear dogbox conversion. Stock 5th and 6th gears are still in place and functioning. The transmission has been upgraded to the new style super strong PPG output shaft.
jasv11 had this in his 06 STI when the old style output shaft failed and at that point he had the transmission rebuilt and the output shaft upgraded, then I bought it. I got tied up with my Mustang project and never used the transmission so it’s still fresh from the rebuild and ready to go.

1st 3.08
2nd 1.88
3rd 1.35
4th 0.96
5th and 6th are stock
Some details:
It started as an 06 STI 6 speed transmission so it has the differentials and transfer gear associated with that year and model Subaru.
The PPG dogbox conversion has 250 miles on the parts except for the new output shaft which has 0 miles on it. The transmission has 0 miles on it since the rebuild.
The original build of the transmission and the rebuild were both performed by Lachute Performance who is a PPG dealer/service center.

Because this is installed in an 06 STI transmission case, it’s a direct swap for 06-07 STI.
This transmission can also be used in:
04-05 STI if a 06-07 STI rear end (or just the ring/pinion) is swapped in at the same time.
02-05 WRX if an STI or WRX automatic driveshaft is swapped in at the same time. (02-03 will also need tranny stubs and different axle seals if they want to use it with WRX front axles. I can provide these at an additional cost and install them for free.)
06-07 WRX if an STI or WRX automatic driveshaft and 02-05 WRX rear end (or just the ring/pinion are swapped in at the same time.
Any time you put an STI transmission in a WRX you will need some other parts to complete the install. I’ve simply focused on what’s specific to me selling a transmission with the 06 STI transfer gearing. You will also need the shifter, shifter linkage, a shift knob etc. Here is some general info on putting an STI 6 speed in a WRX:

If someone with a WRX wants to upgrade to an STI rear end etc. at the same time as installing this tranny, they can bolt it up with parts from an 06-07 STI.
If anyone with an 08+ WRX or STi, or other Subaru is seriously interested please just let me know so I can figure out what needs to be done to swap it in. As you can see, it usually doesn’t take much to mechanically swap these.
